Founder and CEO – AJ Scales
AJ’s journey began with a professionally trained German Shepherd, as a family protection dog. Witnessing the capabilities of this highly trained K9 left an indelible mark on AJ, sparking a lifelong passion for understanding and training dogs.
As he grew, so did his passion working line canines. AJ owned and trained a variety of working line canines, including Doberman Pinschers, Rottweilers, and American Pit Bull Terriers. Each of his dogs were instilled with a solid foundation of obedience, reflecting AJ’s commitment to responsible dog ownership.
The world of IGP (International Utility Dog Trial) became AJ’s arena of choice, where the partnership between handler and dog is put to the ultimate test. Owning a working line German Shepherd, he found deep satisfaction in the training process, pushing both himself and his canine companion to new heights.
AJ’s dedication to excellence didn’t stop with his own dogs. Recognizing the value of learning from the best, he surrounded himself with top trainers across Canada, drawing parallels with his success in the realm of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, where he earned the title of World Champion.
Driven by a desire to share his expertise and help fellow pet owners overcome challenges, AJ founded Complete Canine Training. This venture seamlessly blends his passion for dogs with his extensive knowledge of training methodologies. AJ’s approach is grounded in a belief that responsible dog ownership is a cornerstone of a harmonious human-canine relationship.
Whether addressing behavioral issues or refining obedience skills, AJ brings a wealth of experience and a genuine love for dogs to every training session. His journey from a young dog enthusiast to a World Champion in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and now a dedicated trainer reflects a commitment to excellence and a profound understanding of the unique bond between humans and their canine companions.
Trainer / Julia Creusot
Meet Julia, a passionate and dedicated individual whose love for dogs runs deep in her veins. Born into a family where her parents first crossed paths at a dog show, Julia’s affinity for canine companionship is a legacy she proudly embraces.
Her journey with dogs began in her childhood, surrounded by English and Gordon Setters that ignited her fascination with sporting dogs. When the time came to choose her first canine companion, Julia sought a breed akin to her upbringing but with a smaller stature. In 2020, she welcomed Otis, an English Springer Spaniel, into her life, a furry friend hailing all the way from Ireland just before the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Undeterred by the challenges of raising a puppy during a pandemic, Julia’s canine family expanded in 2021 with the addition of Silas, an English Setter, sourced from a reputable breeder in Wisconsin. Despite the unconventional circumstances, Julia and her dynamic duo achieved remarkable milestones, accumulating over 35 titles in various canine sports. Their diverse repertoire includes activities such as obedience, scent hurdle, sprinter, weight pull, scenting, barn hunt, and dock diving. However, their primary focuses remain on agility, conformation, and hunting.
Beyond being a devoted dog parent, Julia boasts over two years of industry experience as a trainer, working with breeds of all sizes and temperaments. Her training philosophy is characterized by adaptability, recognizing the unique qualities of each dog/handler team. Julia firmly believes that a personalized training plan is essential, tailoring her approach to match the distinctive needs of every furry companion and their human counterpart. In Julia’s world, the bond between a person and their dog is a unique journey, and she is committed to helping each team thrive through tailored guidance and reinforcement.
